Instagram guide to Budapest

Everybody uses  Instagram nowadays and I am a big fan as well I thought I’d write a post about the places in Budapest where you can take some nice pictures for your Insta. If you click on the places names you can see them on Google maps, just made a bit easier to help you find them. 🙂

In Budapest there are a lot of things to do and see, that’s why people consider one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. On the Buda side my favorite place is Fisherman’s Bastion that is worth approaching from the Chain Bridge. Above the Fisherman’s Bastion and the Matthias Church you can see the beautiful panorama of Budapest. You can take a lot of wonderful pictures and put it on your Insta and Instastory.  Trust in your imagination and creativity here and you can take some marvelous shots. Usually there are a lot of tourists so it’s worth going in the morning and on weekdays.

About 8 minutes walk away you can find the Buda Castle and it’s area where you can find a wonderful building complex and the view of the Danube is very eye-catching. I recommend to take a long walk around this area because it is very nice and picturesque. You can feel the historical atmosphere that sticks to you immediately.

The Gellert Hill/ Citadella aren’t only the tourists favorite but the locals go there too to see the beautiful view of Budapest. The walk to the top of the hill will be a bit of a hike but seeing the wonderful view from here is unmissable.

On the Pest side, you can walk around in the city centre where you meet with exciting places again. If you take a photo one of these places and post it on your Insta, the likes are guaranteed under your pic. The St. Stephen’s Basilica grabs your attention immediately and you can’t resist to take a pic of this wonderful building. I also recommend to eat some ice-cream at Gelato Rosa where they made a rose shaped ice-cream. It is not only the prettiest, it is very delicious too.

In Budapest there a lot of marvelous buildings which will amaze you such as the Parliament and the National Museum. These are must locations for the Insta fans. Last but not least you can visit some nice exhibition in the National Gallery. The Szechenyi Thermal Bath and the Heroe’s Square are very touristy but really worth exploring  these places too.

If you fancy to eat something, you can find a lot of charming restaurants and bistros in the city. You can read some food place recommendations and my experiences with them on my blog. My favorites on the Buda side is Cinnamon, Törökméz and Villa Bagatelle. On the Pest side à la Maison Grand, Bubo and Amber’s French Bakery. All of these places are so lovely, the waitresses are very nice and I’m sure you will find some yummy food that fits your taste. #foodie, #foodporn and the #brunch tags are essential. Which are your favorite Insta places in Budapest? 🙂
