Me and Ben celebrated our two years anniversary at Christmas so we decided to go for brunch to a special place in Canary Wharf, The Ivy in the Park. It’s opened a couple months ago, and I was so excited to visit this magical place so our anniversary was the perfect occasion to try out.
I heard the cocktails are very good so we definitely wanted to taste it. I chose the Canada Goose Cosmo and Ben the Salted Caramel Espresso Martini. I am not drinking alcohol at all, maybe once in a year, but I really liked the cosmo, it was so refreshing. Ben’s Espresso Martini with a touch of salted caramel, is a dream of every coffee lovers.
I ordered the Hot Buttermilk Pancakes which I’ve already seen on Instagram so I knew I need to try it. The pancakes were fluffy and light, my favorite part was the mix of the cool sour yogurt and the warm strawberry sauce. This flavor combination was a winner for me.
Ben chose the Chicken Milanese which is a brioche-crumbed chicken breast with a fried egg, parmesan and truffle cream sauce. It was so special and tasty, we have never tried anything like this before. Of course, we got some truffle and parmesan chips (fries) and after we tasted it we ordered one more immediately.
The dessert was a cup of cappuccino and they surprised us with a mini anniversary tart. We felt so special and the staff was absolutely the best.
Last but not least, I need to mention the interior of The Ivy in the Park, Canary Wharf. Its unique style is a mixture of elegance and Mediterranean design. You feel close to nature because of the warm tones and plants, the modern art and lots of glass make it a very special space.
Check out their website here and book a table if you’d like to visit them. 🙂
