My hair care routine – how I take care of my fine, blonde hair

Coloring my hair

I started to color my hair when I was 14-15 years old. My hair is naturally dark blonde so putting some highlights in it made my hair more blonde and I think this is the best color that matches for me. When I don’t have time to go back to Hungary, to my hairdresser (I trust only in her) you can see my natural hair but because of the highlights, it is hardly seen. I go to the hairdresser every 4-6 months.

Washing my hair and aftercare – the products I use

For years now, I use the L’oreal Elvive Shampoo, Conditioner and Mask and I am so pleased with the results. Usually, I wash my hair 2 or 3 times a week and I use the repairing products. I always use one of the conditioners and the mask too because my hair is fine and dry so it needs deep conditioning every time. These products help with my lifeless, dull and straw-like hair. (as you can see below)

Once in two weeks, I use the Provoke Touch Silver Brightening Shampoo which helps me to get rid of yellowish hair. My hairdresser will hate me using this but I think my hair needs it sometimes.

After my hair is towel dry, I put on one drop from the L’oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil which is so worth the price (one bottle lasts for more than a year) and spray my hair with the Schwarzkopf Gliss Kur Hair Repair Conditioner which is a leave-in conditioner. During the week between washes, I use the Gliss Kur Conditioner before I go to bed and the Batiste Dry Shampoo to fix my hair so it looks clean and fresh.

I know heating is not healthy for my hair but sometimes I need to use it for styling. All my hair styling products are Remington but I don’t use the straightener every time after I washed my hair or if I do, I use it only once between two washes. I realized my hair condition and its handling depends on my cycle. For example, when I am on my period it is impossible to style my hair, it’s so flat and lifeless.

Usually, I try to only wash my hair, dry it and sleep like that and in the morning my hair doesn’t look like a hayrick as you can see in the last pictures.

I love the new trend, wearing hair accessories. I used to wear hairband when I was watching Gossip Girl and I was so into Blair’s style. Now, I like to wear the bobby pins in different shape and decorated with pearls. I also thinking about to wear headbands again and in summer I can’t wait to wear my hair scarf or head scarf, I am not sure how you call it.

(PS: I recommend these products because I use them for years and I love them. This blog post is not sponsored by any of the brands I mentioned.)

Here I used the dryer and then the straightener. My blow dry skill just doesn’t exist.

I only used the dryer then I slept like that and this is the next morning.
